Poet and literary shaman Kate Braverman chronicles the trajectory of her generation?s Left Coast politics, conflicts, and coming of age in the West. She presents an eccentric and profoundly daring view of social and individual transformation-- part history, hallucination, stand up comedy monologue, travelogue and philosophy.
Kate Braverman is author of the novels, Lithium for Medea, Palm Latitudes, Wonders of the West, and The Incantation of Frida K, two collections of short fiction, and four books of poetry. Frantic Transmissions to and from Los Angeles is the winner of the 2005 Graywolf Press Nonfiction Prize.

She is joined by award-winning poet Sharon Doubiago, author of The Book of Seeing With One?s Own Eyes, also published by Graywolf Press.
