Brothers and creative team Beres and Dave Jackson make up the Sydney two-piece Karoshi. With the recent release of their beautiful album 'Sleepwalker', the pair will now take their sound, along with good friend UK-bredJustin Grounds, to Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.
The history of popular music is lined with bands built around brothers (Ray and Dave Davies, Liam and Noel Gallagher, Scott and Ron Asheton, etc). Even when they can’t stand the sight of each other, the innate sixth sense allows them to know exactly what to do to complement each other musically. The Jacksons, thankfully, can stand the sight of each other and form the nucleus of Karoshi. Beres has spent 3 1/2 years carefully sculpting his debut album. Though starting out as a solo laptopper, constant live shows during that period have seen his brother Dave move in permanently as drummer.
The title track was released as a split 7” with Ah! Pandita in 2010 and was played across the Triple J network and community radio in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Dave’s dry, skittering drums belie his background in avant-jazz while the whole is held together by the melancholy melodicism of Beres’ production.
Don't miss their acclaimed live show!
