Kariann Fuqua: Stained World December 22, 2007

Emerging artist, Kariann Fuqua will present 20 new acid-hued paintings of Chicago's energetic and gritty cityscape. L viaducts, historic brick houses, lamp posts and other commonly dismissed architectural features of the city are the focus of Fuqua's artwork. The structures depicted are colorfully enhanced with the stain patterns found on the surrounding streets and sidewalks to the location, imposing traces of life, history and activity on the otherwise lifeless structures that Chicagoans see everyday.
