Fusing traditional material with high-energy rock intensity, the band is renowned for its dynamic and electrifying concerts. It's a Beautiful Day is famed for its hit song 'White Bird,' a melancholy ballad that stood out not only for its memorable vocal melody and "seize the day" message, but also for frontman David Laflamme's slow-burning violin solo. Shana Morrison, daughter of Van Morrison, began performing with her group Caledonia in the SF Bay Area in 1996. Her electrifying performances and CD releases have received rave reviews in roots music circles. Wicked Tinkers combines the emotion and power of the Great Highland Bagpipe, ethnic drums, didgeridoo, and the Bronze-age Irish Horn into a unique fusion of danceable, tribal sounds. Slim Bawb & Gator Bait play "swampgrass" music. Slim Bawb is Bob Pearce, leader/songwriter of the Sacramento-based act The Beer Dawgs. Bawb plays banjo, reso-guitar, mandolin and mojo stomp. The Auburn Gold Country Fairground is located at 1273 High Street in Auburn, CA. The Karfluki Fest will take place rain or shine. Tickets are $25 (kids under 12 free with guardian).
