Jean Vigo’s classic 1934 film L’Atalante is the inspiration for La Nuit, a stop-motion puppet animation by Baltimore-based Karen Yasinksy.
The artist breathes life into handmade dolls as she recreates a scene from Vigo’s magical tale of young newlyweds who are separated during their honeymoon aboard a barge in Paris. Music by Winston Rice. (6 mins., video)
