Detroit native Karen Newman has long been a well-known face in Michigan and is seen regularly as the "Voice of the Detroit Red Wings." This has continued for more than a decade, giving the singer the exposure needed to release an album of classic rock-oriented pop songs called One Word, and a holiday album 'What Christmas Means to Me.' Her original song 'Christmas Eve on Woodward Avenue' is a regular Christmas favorite in Detroit.
