Violist Roberto Diaz returns to Kansas City to play Krzyzstof Penderecki's arresting and dramatic viola concerto written to commemorate the bicentennial of the birth of Simon Bolivar. The music of Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov fuses elements of the composer's own multicultural background - the sounds of classical, folk and South American street music. The Four Dances from Estancia of Alberto Ginastera are an evocative and lively depiction of a day in the life of the gauchos of Argentina's countryside.
