Phlyum started life in 2000 as a monthly Hip-Hop party; its first major event was Rodney P and Skitz at the Powerhouse in Guildford. The event was a sellout. After that first event Phylum hosted a string of sold-out nights, featuring artists such as Jehst, Skinnyman, Klashnekof, Lewis Parker, Mr Thing, Blade, Mark B, Danny Breaks, Mystro, Freestyle, Primecuts (Scratch Perverts) and many more.
