The premiere performance of the Juventas Trio will feature Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time with clarinetist Amy Advocat. The Quartet for the End of Time was written when Messiaen was only 32 while being held as a prisoner of war by the German army during World War II. The work's apocalyptic and spiritual subject matter continue to resonate with audiences today. In addition to this rare exploration of music beyond what Juventas is traditionally known for -- works by living composers under 35 - the Juventas Trio will also showcase stunning works for piano trio by young composers Anthony Joseph Lanman and Aaron Stepp, and the East Coast premiere of Paul Dooley's award-winning Dani's Dance.
