Just Do It lifts the lid on climate activism and the daring troublemakers who have crossed the line to become modern-day outlaws. Emily James’ film follows these activists as they blockade factories, attack coal power stations and glue themselves to the trading floors of international banks despite the very real threat of arrest.
Introducing the audience to a powerful cast of mischievous and inspiring characters, Just Do It takes you on an astonishing journey behind the scenes of a community of people who refuse to sit back and allow the destruction of their world.
Over the period of a year, filming dozens of actions and with the help of over 30 camera people, director Emily James accumulated 400 hours of footage which have resulted in this absorbing 90 minute documentary.
A former National Film and Television School student with many international awards, following her first broadcast commission; The Luckiest Nut in the World (C4, 2002), the Guardian asserted “Emily James is a genius…and will in time be revered as a television innovator.”
This is an exciting opportunity to watch Just Do It and hear Emily speak about her journey during its production and her career to date.
