Nearly a dozen young area dancers, ages 9 to 19, have been hard at work to showcase their talent for the upcoming “Just Dance!” performance on Sat., July 25, at 1 pm, at the Yucaipa Little Theatre. This event will feature unique choreography to songs made popular by Broadway musicals and popular culture including “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” from Hairspray, “Seize the Day,” from Newsies, and “Perfect Day,” by Hoku.
The students’ experience level ranges from first time performers to theatre veterans but all have been working intensely to prepare a polished show.
“I’ve been so excited to see the tremendous progress these kids have made in such a short time,” said Matt Walsh, the head instructor and choreographer. “They’ve worked really hard and it’s going to be a great show for everyone who comes to see it.”
Walsh is assisted by Michelle Vasquez, a student at Crafton Hills College and a veteran choreographer.
This one time showcase performance will be held at the Yucaipa Little Theatre at 12135 California Street. Tickets are only $8 per person.
