Junior League of Chicago 38th Annual Gazebo Holiday Market November 19, 2009

The Junior League of Chicago (JLC) will kick off the holiday season with its 38th annual Gazebo Holiday Market at the historic Chicago Cultural Center, a new venue for this year’s event which has expanded to three days of shopping.

The weekend begins with the Martinis & Mistletoe Preview Party on Thursday, November 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering an exclusive first look at unique treasures and tasty bites from more than 30 specialty merchants from across the country. Guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, music by Fig Media and the chance to win fabulous raffle prizes while they shop. Martinis & Mistletoe guests receive FREE shopping admission for the entire weekend!

Holiday shopping will resume on Friday, November 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For 48 hours, the Sidney R. Yates Gallery of the Chicago Cultural Center will be transformed into a unique boutique shopping experience offering a broad selection of gifts for all ages, interests, and budgets. From jewelry, accessories, and home decor to indulgent treats, children's clothing and toys, and men’s apparel, there is something for everyone! Many exciting new vendors have joined the 2009 Gazebo Holiday Market, including K-Amato with irresistibly chic jewelry and Pretty Pear Designs with exquisite fabric stationery. A portion of all sales will help fund JLC’s community projects which empower at-risk women and children through mentoring, advocacy, and education.

Shoppers will have an opportunity to rejuvenate their spirit in the Guests’ Lounge where they will enjoy product sampling by LUNA, Cabot Cheese and The Protein Bar as well as a place to rest their feet.
