June-July Exhibits @ Art Works June 23, 2012

A few years ago, Joan Louis of Peru, exhibited with Art Works and we’ve asked him to return. He’s bringing a new body of work entitled: Babel for the FOURTH FRIDAY JUNE art show and reception. Join us on June 22, 7-10 p.m. for the opening reception and meet the artists. The exhibits continue through July 22, 2012. This event is free and open to the public.

Exhibits include:

BABEL by Joan LouisGrowing up in Trujillo, Peru, JOAN LOUIS, has been influenced by art and music since early childhood. His father is also an artist and his desire to paint became so strong in later years that he ultimately gave up teaching and performing music to follow his heart. “With painting, says Joan, I have chosen my own path and in doing so, I choose the path of freedom. I express with color what I hear in my heart.” This exhibit, in the Jane Sandelin Gallery.

BETH BRADFORD RECENT WORKSBeth Bradford works in a myriad of mediums: photography, oil, watercolor and woodcut prints. Her exhibit will be in the Centre Gallery, East.

ABOUT FACE by Cynthia SteeleCynthia Steele is a commissioned portrait artist, quality craftsman and accomplished business-woman. She has worked in the fields of luxury fashion retail management and is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She owns and operates Cynthia Steele, LTD with locations in southwest Virginia, Hampton Roads, VA, East Hampton, NY and currently, Richmond, VA. Her exhibit will be in the Centre Gallery, West.

KEENAN CROSS FIRST WORKS Keenan Cross of Willliamsburg,Virgina will exhibit his first solo show in the Skylight Gallery.

ELDERS: CREATIVE SPIRIT Audrey Skeen organizes this annual exhibit of artwork by seniors from local Senior organizations and facilities: Circle Center, Senior Connections, Elder Friends and UR Osher. The exhibit will be in the Corner Gallery.

JUNE 2012 ALL MEDIA ART SHOWThis exhibit is a focal point of all Art Works’ openings. It is a juried show with cash prizes and is open to all artists and all mediums. Call for Entries is on June 15th and 16th, 2012 at Art Works. Sally Bowring is the juror.
