Juilliard’s annual recital by the organ students of Paul Jacobs, chair of Juilliard’s Organ Department, takes place Wednesday, February 9 at 8 PM on the Holtkamp organ in the School’s
Paul Hall (155 West 65th Street). The six organists performing on this free recital are David Ball,
David Crean, Michael Hey, Christopher Houlihan, Raymond Nagem, and Gregory Zelek. They perform works for the organ and transcriptions of other classical works. The evening opens with a
Meet-the-Artist session, followed by the recital.
The program features: Giacomo Meyerbeer’s Coronation March from Le Prophète (transcribed and played by Raymond Nagem); Charles-Marie Widor’s Adagio from Symphonie VI, Op. 42 (played by David Ball); Naji Hakim’s Final from Hommage à Igor Stravinsky (played by Gregory Zelek);
Claude Debussy’s Children’s Corner Suite (transcribed and played by Michael Hay); Marian Sawa’s Ecce Lignum Crucis (played by David Crean); Maurice Ravel’s Vocalise in the form of a Habañera (transcribed and played by Christopher Houlihan); and Louis Vierne’s Final from Symphony No. 4 in G Minor, Op. 32 (played by Christopher Houlihan).
