Meg Little uses historical techniques and durable modern materials to create her striking, abstract hand-tufted rugs. Cultural artifacts from around the world and contemporary art by artists such as David Hockney and Jasper Johns inspire Little's designs. She uses a basic design vocabulary - stripe, spot, circle, cross, spiral. These shapes mirror the simplest hand gestures and have been used for decorative purposes since pre-historic times. "When I thought about making objects for use, I wanted to be part of that tradition." Exhibit on display during Museum hours: Tues-Sat 10 am-4 pm, Sun 12-4 pm, open most holiday Mondays.
