Inertia Justice also known Tameka White as has been performing spoken word since 1993 in Houston ’s own Mahogany Café. Over the course of 16 years she has performed in hundreds of venues and has toured across United States and Jamaica . Tameka was the first poet in Houston to start a poetic organization The Pop-Poetry Spot was featured at Sharpstown Center and Metro’s “Poetry in Motion” campaign.
An innovator Tameka was the first poet in Houston to release a poetry CD. She has released 3 poetic CDs: Momentum, A Poet and Destiny. And she has self-published 2 Books of poetry: Predigest Sensationalism- Mental Baby Food and At Last a Woman’s Perspective. Her work has been featured in several performances by the Kummba House Dance teams. Tameka is currently working on a novel and a new CD to both will be released Summer of 2010.
