Jose's World Flauta Eating Championship December 6, 2009

Nationally recognized local icon Jose’s has announced that it will host the first ever sanctioned World Flauta-Eating Contest. Billed as the “Jose’s World Flauta Eating Championship” this event is expected to draw the worlds top competitive eaters in the final scheduled for December 6th 2009. All of San Diego is invited to compete. The Jose’s World Flauta Eating Championship will award a $2,000 first prize and is poised to instantly become a major event on the international competitive eating circuit. In addition to the $2,000 first prize, Jose’s will offer $1,000 to the second place finisher and $500 to the third place eater.

Qualifying events are now being held and competitor spots are filling-up. However, there is still room to sign-up for the October 24, November 7, and November 21 qualifying competitions. All events will be held at Jose’s located at 1037 Prospect St in La Jolla at 4:30 p.m. where amateur competitors will have an opportunity to eat their way to a seat at the final table to compete against the World’s Top Eaters at the championships on December 6th.
