Canadian tenor Joseph Kaiser (right), singing the role of Flamand, and fellow Canadian baritone Russell Braun (left), singing the role of Olivier, perform with Andrew Davis and Renée Fleming in Richard Strauss’s operatic treasure, Capriccio. This opera offers a poetic exploration on the question of whether music or words are more important – a subject dramatized in the story of a Countess torn between two suitors: Olivier, a poet, and Flamand, a composer.
