Jonathan Richman is one of rock's most eccentric and unpredictable artists. In 1970 he founded The Modern Lovers, an influential proto-punk band, but since the mid-1970s has worked either solo or with low-key, generally acoustic backing. He is known for his frequent appearances on 'Late Night With Conan O'Brien' and his role in the hit comedy film, 'There's Something About Mary.'
