After taking charge of the California Shakespeare Theater in 2000, Moscone, son of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and a Yale-trained director, turned around the once struggling troupe, molding it into one of the stars of the Bay Area theater scene. His scripts, including the revealing story of his grief over his father’s death, "Ghost Light," have earned him the Bay Area Critics Circle and Dean Goodman Choice awards for best direction and production.
