Join the October2011 Solidarity Action in San Francisco

October 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan and the beginning of the 2012 federal austerity budget. On October 6, 2011, thousands of activists will occupy Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC. This San Francisco rally will express solidarity with the October2011 demonstration in Washington, DC, and with people in the streets of New York, Washington, and San Francisco.

Planned speakers and performers include:
-Michael Eisenscher, National Coordinator of US Labor Against the War
-Kevin Danaher, co-founder of Global Exchange
-Patty Bennett of Military Families Speak Out
-Henry Clark . Executive Director of West County Toxics Coalition
-Carol Denney, Berkeley singer/songwriter
-Ed Holmes (SF Mime Troupe actor, aka: "Dick Cheney")

The rally will include open-mike periods for participants to suggest further actions on ending the wars, supplying our needs, taxing the rich, and protecting the environment. Those Interested can further discuss these suggestions at a General-Assembly-style meeting from 6-7 PM in the Koret Auditorium. Bring your energy, ideas, and enthusiasm.
