The Music Building is an oasis of emerging talent. Since opening in 1979, it’s kicked off the careers of Madonna, The Strokes, Billy Idol and Interpol, who penned many of their early hits in their personalized practice rooms. Still home to Richard Lloyd, Atomic Tom and an exceptional community of up-and-comers, experience first-hand the raw energy that The Music Building has been cultivating for the past 33 years.
While not usually open to the public, you’ll step past the steel doors and go up the freight elevator to enter the studio of BodyFace — an alternative rock power trio who are gaining a reputation for their intense live performances. They’ll play some songs between talking to you over a few beers about their career, what life is like at The Music Building, and — if you think you’ve got the chops — they’re down for you to join in a jam session.
