Hampshire County Arts Council is pleased to again present Johnny Staats with Robert Shafer, on Saturday, November 7 at 7:30PM at The Bottling Works, 426 E. Main St.n Romney. Staats whose command of the mandolin is astounding. His influences range from the traditional bluegrass sound of Bill Monroe to the sophisticated classics of Mozart, with jazz, swing and newgrass all mixed in with ultimate taste. Shafer is a 2-time winner of the National Flatpicking Championship as well as state guitar championships in KY (3 times), TN (twice), OH (twice) and AL. The pair have been among the most frequent requests for HCAC to bring back.
This program is presented with sponsorship from FNB Romney and financial assistance from the WV Division of Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts.
