Johnny Gunn & his band, The MexxiBillis is a group of seasoned professionals doing original music inspired by the many different genres of music Johnny has had the pleasure and good fortune to work with, including artists and or members of Eddie Money (Rock), Cold Blood (Funky R& B), Metallica (Heavy Metal), Night Ranger (Melodic Hard Rock), Tommy Castro (Blues), The TomKatz (R & B), Puro Bandido (Latin Rock), Ka Ehu Kai (Hawaiian group), Tim Murphy and Vince Gil (Country). Johnny has developed a sound that grooves, rocks and sways flavored with some of today’s Outlaw Country. Johnny's manager, Gordon Mackay, calls it Swamp Rock, nothing abrasive, but enjoyable songs with a guitar driven sound incorporating traditional Americana roots instruments like the pedal steel, dobro and banjo with hard hitting drums and bass. He is currently in the studio finishing up the long awaited CD, "Calboyz & Enginez" to be released on Strawhouse Records/Sony Red this Spring 2010.
Kurt Crasper has created a unique sound through the years combining hard driving Southern Rock and mixing in some Blues with Country. This fusion would be clearly defined as it's own form of Rockabilly. A longtime friend and producer, Johnny Gunn, once described his music to be Los Lonely Boys meets Stray Cats.
In 2007 The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences placed Kurt Crasper on the Official Ballot for the 2008 Grammy Awards in the following categories:
Category 6 - Best Male Pop Vocal Performance - Award goes to Artist: Kurt Crasper for "Ramp Tramp". Ballot Entry 028
Category 11 - Best Pop Vocal Album - "Wolftickets” Artist and Producers: Kurt Crasper, Ira Walker and Johnny Gunn. Ballot Entry 047
Kurt has also been in the recording studio working on his current CD "Honky Tonk Amnesia."
