Although there's no doubt Sen. McCain is a much more able speaker than our current president, McCain is certainly no longer a maverick. He recited a litany of Republican talking points tonight and did not seem to win any new converts to his cause. It was a polite crowd. He opened with "Tax cuts" and followed with a tirade against the ethics reform bill being pushed by the Democratic leadership. For someone who has missed a lot of important votes in the past few months, he was in a hurry to jump on the redeye and get back and vote with his [obst(R)uctionist] party.
