John Gorka has been part of the new folk movement since the late '80s, slowly and steadily carving out his niche. His honest writing and ability to say it all with an economy of words has won him much praise and his fans' devotion. Blessed with a great voice and great guitar and piano chops, Susan Werner is a multi-talented folk/pop singer and songwriter. Her eclectic and offbeat set of influences includes such names as Nanci Griffith, Jacques Brel, Thelonius Monk, Joni Mitchell, Sting and jazz diva Shirley Horn. But those influences only enhance the intimate, witty and virtuosic talents that have earned Werner a strong fan-base in clubs, concert halls and festivals worldwide.
