Jim Carroll is an author, poet, autobiographer, and punk musician. Carroll is best known for his 1978 novel The Basketball Diaries, which was made into a movie in 1995 starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The novel The Basketball Diaires concerns his life in New York City's hard drug culture and his struggle to rid himself of his addiction.

Carroll published his first book, Organic Trains, at age 17. Several of his poems have been published in such magazines as Paris Review and Poetry. In 1970, his second collection of poems, 4 Ups and 1 Down was published. That same year, Carroll started working for Andy Warhol. At first, he was writing film dialogue and inventing character names; later on, Carroll worked as the co-manager of Warhol's Theater. Carroll's first above-ground publication, the collection Living At The Movies was published in 1973.

He formed the Jim Carroll Band, a New Wave/punk rock group, in 1980. Their biggest commercial success was the single "People Who Died," from their debut album, Catholic Boy. He has also collaborated with many influential punk and hard rock musicians, including Lou Reed, Blue yster Cult, Boz Scaggs and Rancid. He is currently completing a novel, due for publication with Viking Penguin.

Deborah Harry originally gained fame as the frontwoman for New Wave band Blondie, which originated in the mid 1970s and achieved commercial success in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

She was a regular at CBGB's, and has since released solo albums including Def, Dumb and Blonde. She has performed with the avant-garde jazz group the Jazz Passengers, and released two new albums with Blondie - No Exit (1999) and The Curse of Blondie (2004).

She will perform with Chris Stein, co-founder and guitar player in the group Blondie.

Lee Ranaldo is best known as a cofounder of the rock band Sonic Youth. Among Ranaldo's solo records are Dirty Windows, a collection of spoken texts with music, and Amarillo Ramp (for Robert Smithson), pieces for the guitar. His books include Bookstore, Road Movies, and Jrnls80s. A full-length book of writings on Moroccan travels and music, as well as a book of new poems, Lengths & Breaths, will be out soon.
