Joel Paterson and The Modern Sounds is a Chicago-based group featuring Joel Paterson on guitar, Beau Sample on string bass, and Alex Hall on drums. This big little trio is dedicated to performing many styles of traditional American music, from classic blues, hot jazz, western swing and rockabilly to everything in between.
