An innovator, groundbreaker and conservator of timeless traditions and classic musicianship, pianist/keyboardist Joe Sample has been a steady groove-maker for over four decades. He was a founding member of the groundbreaking fusion ensemble The Crusaders, and since the late '70's, he has been an internationally recognized solo contemporary jazz artist. He has produced some memorable recordings, including Carmel. His music is rooted in many different genres including gospel, soul, bebop, blues, Latin, and classical. He continues to present an original fusion of jazz and soul traditions featuring complex harmonies and flowing melodies.
