Joe Pernice (of The Pernice Brothers)
Joe Pernice began his recording career in the mid-90's with the Scud Mountain Boys, in Northampton, Massachusetts. They released two records before signing to Seattle's Sub Pop in 1996 and releasing Massachusetts, along with The Early Year, a compilation of the two pre-Sub Pop recordings. In 1997, he disbanded the Scuds to form Pernice Brothers, whose debut Overcome By Happiness was released by Sub Pop, as was Chappaquiddick Skyline, more of a Joe Pernice side project in 2000. Big Tobacco, a Joe Pernice solo record was released in Europe in 2000 (and later in the US). Later that year, Joe left Sub Pop and he and his longtime manager Joyce Linehan established Ashmont Records, based in Boston, where they have released several Pernice Brothers records: The World Won't End (2001) , Yours, Mine and Ours (2003), Nobody's Watching/Nobody's Listening live album and DVD (2004) Discover a Lovelier You (2005), Live a Little (2006) and It Feels So Good When I Stop (Novel Soundtrack). His first novel, It Feels So Good When I Stop (Riverhead Books) was published in 2009. Joe has also published a volume of poetry called Two Blind Pigeons (Ashmont Books) and a novella for Continuum Books' 33 1/3 series, Meat is Murder. His music has appeared in the movies Fever Pitch and Slaughterhouse Rules, the television shows Six Feet Under and The Gilmore Girls, and in television ads for Sherwin-Williams, Sears and Southern Comfort. A Massachusetts native, he now lives in Toronto. A new album of Pernice originals is planned for early 2010.

Goodnight Blue Moon
Goodnight Blue Moon features former members of Pencilgrass, Erik Elligers and Matt Goff, alongside Sean Elligers (Erik's brother), Nancy Matlack (Erik's wife), Amy Matlack (Nancy's Sister), Mat Crowley (Erik and Nancy's next-door neighbor) and Adam Kubota (bass player). GNBM has also been seen with such members as Rob Katz (Pencilgrass, Corpus Frisky, Slothlovechunk...etc.), John Panos (Pencilgrass, Kings, Mates of State, MT Bearington...etc.), Jason Bates (Crooked Hook, Mountain Movers, Ponybird, MT Bearington, Shortpants Romance...etc.), and/or Carl Testa (Uncertainty Music Series, NHIC).
GNBM usually performs as a 7-piece which can involve Vocals, Guitar, Cello, Viola, Mandolin, Banjo, Trumpet, Bells, Drums, Upright Bass..... I'm sure I'm missing something....probably a kazoo or something. All of these elements in support of songs mainly by Erik Elligers and Mathew Crowley, deliver a new and interesting way to hear Americana/Folk-driven music. Southern rhythms and progressions combine with northern melodies supported by a padding string section provide for a very different listening experience indeed. It almost sounds like ......Connecticut.

Shellye Valauskas & Dean Falcone (of The Shellye Valauskas Experience)
A sweet songwriter who cares for catchy rhythms and hooks. A supportive, up-for-anything pop band to back her. The Shellye Valauskas Experience’s Box It Up is a box of secrets, surprises and delights. By the time she formed the band, vocalist/guitarist Shellye Valauskas was an established solo performer, winning the New Haven Advocate’s Grand Band Slam readers’ poll and rating a slot in New York’s... CMJ Marathon several years in a row. As her songwriting collaborator and bandmate, she enlisted ace guitarist Dean Falcone, who’s served the Connecticut music scene since the early ’80s with Jon Brion in The Excerpts, his own Dean and the Dragsters, and a host of others. Valauskas and Falcone’s shared love for the intelligent, heartwarming yet punchy pop of Crowded House, The Posies and Aimee Mann, as well as the burgeoning Americana movement, helped them nail a distinctive yet accessible radio-friendly sound from the start.
