Starting on April 16, 2010, NORWESCAP Career & Life Transitions Center will offer a job club to assist women in Hunterdon, Warren, Somerset and Warren Counties who are currently actively looking for employment. The job club will run for eight consecutive Fridays between 9:30 – 11:30 AM in the Career & Life Transitions Center at 84 Park Avenue in Flemington.
Entitled “Looking for the On Ramp”, this program will present essential information for jobseekers including resume writing, networking, interviewing strategies, the development of a professional image, using social media effectively, and 21st century job search techniques. The interactive sessions will be led by speakers, and attendees will take part in discussions and brainstorming sessions.
Like a mastermind or success team group, the Looking for the On Ramp Job Club will provide participants with encouragement and feedback to help them move forward towards securing a position that matches their current life and professional goals.
Carol Camerino, a Career & Life Transitions Center Advisory Council member, developed the program and is a job club leader affiliated with the Tory Johnson job clubs featured on ABC’s Good Morning America. Camerino, a Raritan Township resident, also has a blog for jobseekers at www.lookingfortheonramp.blogspot.com.
The tuition cost for the entire program is $100, and scholarships are available.
