Urban Expeditions : Jewels of the San Gabriel Valley Bike Ride (Part 2)

Follow the natural flowing landscape that creates what local non-profit, Amigos de los Rios, calls the Emerald Necklace in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley. Using both the streets and designated bike paths, the C.I.C.L.E. Ride Team will wind you through some of the best hidden gems of L.A. County. Flowing water, undisturbed meadows, and community farms are just some of the highlights of this grand adventure. New for this ride is a brief tour and lunch stop at the Whittier Narrows Nature Center, a reserve for hundreds of bird species. This bicycle ride is free and open to all!

Take the Urban Expeditions’ Challenge

The Urban Expeditions’ Challenge is as easy as... breathing.
Just bring a *new rider out to Urban Expeditions, and you’ll get a chance to win an awesome prize. For each new rider that you bring, you’ll receive one Urban Expeditions’ Challenge raffle ticket. * A new rider is someone that is new or fairly new to city bicycling

Why you just gotta accept the Challenge

• Getting people out on their bikes to reconnect with city bicycling is an important step to building a broader support base for bicycle-friendly legislation.

• Urban Expeditions gets people re-engaged with their community and reconnected to the joys of bicycling around town.

• It's a fun free event that reminds people that life in the city looks a lot different when you don't have a car roof over your head.

• It’s a ride for everyone. Invite your grandma, your out-of-shape best friend and your "are-we-there-yet" kid. Urban Expeditions’ gets people moving towards a cleaner, greener and more joyful city.

Urban Expeditions is just one way that C.I.C.L.E. is working to grow bicycling by inviting everyday people to come out and experience the joys (and the benefits) of city bicycling. Check out our front page or our ride calendar for the latest Urban Expeditions' ride information. See you (and a friend) at the next ride!
