Jesse Stacken Trio October 7, 2010

Formed in 2005, the Jesse Stacken Trio has developed into an ensemble that explores the depths of the piano trio format. The instrument roles, improvisation, and form structures have been re-examined, reconstructed and expanded. The result is music that is fresh, exciting, and free. The trio released its critically acclaimed debut 'That That' on Fresh Sound records in 2008. Now they are celebrating their second release on the same label, 'Magnolia.' This trio has been Stacken's main compositional vehicle for several years, and the improvisational elements have become interwoven with the written.
