On a magical winter night in 2005, the Jersey Shore Rock-N-Soul Revue debuted at the Basie with Bob Bandiera as Music Director. The show, “A Tribute to Roy Orbison,” featured the songs of the lengendary artist, including “Sweet Dream Baby,” “Handle with Care,” “Running Scared,” “Only the Lonely,” “Ooby Dooby,” “In Dreams,” “Working for the Man,” “Blue Bayou,” “Crying” and more. The Asbury Park Press said the show was Bandiera’s “finest hour,” the Star Ledger said, “When it comes to evoking Orbison's spirit, you really have to hear Bandiera to believe him,” and Chorus & Verse said, “The event felt…like an invitation to a high-school party with all the popular kids hosted by the coolest cat in town.” Four years and nine sold out shows later the Revue reprises this spectacular show on what would have been Orbison’s 73rd birthday.
