Jeremy Smoking Jacket is a collaboration between SJ Esau (Twisted
Nerve), Rose Kemp (One Little Indian), and Max Milton. With songs
constructed from such things as Coughing Fits, Mannequins and Radio
Static, they create anything from threatening post-rock to soothing
alt-folk. They?ve only ever played 6 live shows, but those 6 have
seen them play the Shambala Festival, as well as gigs with Soeza,
Bearsuit, Steveless and Male. The Bristolian musicians will perform
for approximately an hour, interspersing JSJ material with music by
Esau, Rose and Max - essentially 4 acts in 1.
North Sea Navigator (Bristol) make music inspired by ghost trains,
Victorian mechanical instruments, serial killers and trips to the
dark, dark woods and were founded by former Gravenhurst member Paul
Nash. Using cello, harmonium, distorted guitars and half a drum kit
they play songs which are both beautiful and scary in equal measure,
with echoes of Nick Cave, Low, and the Velvet Underground.
7 Hertz are an improvising chamber sextet from Leeds, comprising a
double bass, two violins, a bass clarinet, a bassoon, and a french
horn. They play bits of contemporary classical, folk , jazz, free
improv and other glorious stuff. They are quite nutty and fun.
