Many people have photographed the neon signs along Route 66 illuminating the night sky, but such pictures tell little about Tucumcari as it is today. Ariaz's images focus on this desert town but he also hope to tell a greater story that may be familiar. It is the story of American westward expansionism, struggle and hope. This photographic survey explores Tucumcari at its centennial, a hundred years after its incorporation in 1908.
