Jefferson Memorial Forest is the nation's largest municipally owned urban forest, a point of pride for all Metro residents. Land Stewards are volunteer botanists who help the Forest maintain the native woodlands through invasive species removal, replanting with natives, identifying and mapping rare species, erosion avoidance and conversation efforts. Volunteers meet at the JMF Welcome Center at 11311 Mitchell Hill Road at 9:00 am. Wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Bring a water bottle and snacks, if desired. Water, gloves, tools, instructions are provided on site.
