Canadian artist Jeff Wall is widely recognized as an innovator of picture-making. Many of Wall's photographs -- such as his iconic 'A Sudden Gust of Wind' -- are complicated productions involving a cast and crew and utilize state-of-the-art photographic and digital technologies. His dramatic -- and often giant -- color transparencies mounted in light boxes evoke the seductive luminance of a cinema screen or backlit advertising display as well as the grand style of history painting. This exhibit brings together more than 40 pieces spanning the 1970s to the present for an extraordinary look at Wall's influential career.
