* As an actor, Jeff Daniels has appeared the films Gettysburg (1993), Dumb & Dumber (1994), and Goodnight and Good Luck (2005). Daniels has also written or performed on several movie soundtracks including Super Sucker (2002) and Because of Winn-Dixie (2005).
* He played his first performance at a fundraiser for the Purple Rose Theatre in Michigan, which was founded by him to showcase American theater in the Midwest.
