Born in Wallington, England, Jeff Beck was surrounded by music from a young age. His mother's piano playing and the family's radio instilled in Beck a passion for music, and it wasn't long before he picked up a guitar and began playing.
In 1965, Beck replaced Eric Clapton as lead guitarist in the Yardbirds. In 1967, he formed The Jeff Beck Group featuring Rod Stewart on vocals and Ron Wood on bass. The band released two albums - Truth (1968) and Beck-Ola (1969). Beck transformed the group many times over the years, introducing new players and releasing critically acclaimed albums including Blow by Blow, Wired, There and Back and Flash.
In the summer of 2004, Jeff Beck undertook his first UK tour since 1990. Fresh from picking up his fourth Grammy Award, the ground-breaking guitarist delivered a set reflecting the eclectic musical mix that is his trademark.
In April 2009, Beck was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, followed by a sold out U.S. tour with Jason Rebello on keyboards. He is touring again in 2010 in support of a new album due out in March.
