The singer-songwriter who helped put Southern California-style country-rock on the airwaves in the 1970s as co-writer of classics for the Eagles (including "Best Of My Love", "Heartache Tonight" and "New Kid In Town") and scored his own top-10 hit in 1979 with "You're Only Lonely" has returned with an ambitious amalgam of rock, country, jazz and even Latin music.
