CHICAGOANS!

Have you ever been touched by the compasionate care given to a loved one by a hospice worker? Here's your chance to say thanks, support a great organization, and have a FUN night out on the town!

This year the Chicago End-of-Life Care Coalition (CECC) celebrates TEN YEARS of providing educational opportunities and support for palliative care and hospice throughout the Chicago area.

You are cordially invited to attend CECC's annual benefit to be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at The Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614. Tickets are $25.00 and may be purchased online at www.greenhousetheater.org or by calling 773-404-7336. Discounted parking is available nearby at the Children’s Memorial Hospital garage. TICKETS ARE GOING FAST; DO NOT DELAY!

The evening begins at 6:00 pm with a festive pre-performance gathering including appetizers, cocktails, GREAT raffle prizes, and music by legendary blues/jazz pianist, Erwin Helfer (www.erwinhelfer.com). Mr. Helfer has appeared at the Chicago jazz and blues festivals.

At 7:30 pm we'll enjoy a private performance of "Deep Listening," an uplifting play by Lisa Wagner. Through song and monologue, "Deep Listening" explores and celebrates the unique and heartfelt gifts of palliative care at the end of life. The play runs approximately 70 minutes.

CECC is a membership group of hospices, hospitals, physicians, nurses, clergy, social workers, patient advocates, and others who work together to educate Chicago’s diverse community about comprehensive care near the end of life. To learn more, please contact us at info@CECC.info, call (773) 296-7247, or visit www.cecc.info.

We look forward to seeing you on THIS Saturday evening, Aug. 28th. Thanks for your contribution to CECC’s important, life-affirming mission.

CECC

Yes, although this is a benefit/fundraising event, it's being posted intentionally in the performing arts section of Upcoming because of the status of our jazz/blues pianist, Mr. Erwin Helfer, and the play to follow thereafter at the theater.

And we really DO have some EXCEPTIONAL raffle prizes! Come and enjoy!
