Nazareth College’s Casa Italiana is proud to present internationally known jazz musician Antonio Ciacca and his trio ensemble on April 9 at 4 p.m. in the Wilmot Recital Hall on the Nazareth College campus. A light reception will follow. Adults cost $25 per person; $35 with reception and opportunity to meet the musicians; students free with valid ID. Ciacca, composer and pianist, is currently the director of programming for Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) and has played throughout the U.S. and Europe with Wynton Marsalis, Steve Lacy, Benny Golson, Wess Anderson and Steve Grossman. He has a vast resume and past work include performances at the Rochester and Detroit International Jazz Festivals and opening for Wynton Marsalis’s 2004 concert tour in Italy. He has an array of albums, which include: Driemoty, Hollis Avenue, Autumn in New York, Ugly Beauty, Rush Life, and most recently Lagos Blues. In 2009, Ciacca was invited to teach “Business of Jazz” at Julliard and also released his first music book, The Music of Antonio Ciacca Vol.1.
