Alice Kollinzas has played music in Portland the last six years with Ipanemia, a bossa nova jazz band.
Now, she is playing gigs with various musicians throughout the Portland area.
As an Oregon native, Alice went Mt. Hood C.C. then PSU to study music.
Although she is classically trained, Alice loves jazz and expressing herself through that art form.
For this show, she is reconnecting with her long time friend and jazz
guitarist, Tom McNalley. Based in LA, he is returning to Portland to play again with Alice.
This will surely be a special reunion of friendship and music not to
be missed.
Guitarist Tom McNalley, originally from Portland but now based in
Los Angeles, has found himself alongside such luminaries as
Ornette Coleman, Mark Dresser, Nels Cline, Alex Cline, Rob Blakeslee and Michael Vlatkovich, to name a few.
He also leads his own groups (one of which was featured in the LA Weekly as "top concert of the year" for
2006), including Lakou, the only Haitian Roots band in Los Angeles.
For this show he is joining up with Alice Kollinzas, a longtime friend and collaborator for duets that promise
to be both intimate and explosive.
