Study jazz drumming in the swing/bebop tradition. Participants will develop components of jazz drumming from a rhythmic/feel orientation. Learn to support and enhance the music as well as develop solos and review counting, time phrasing and form. A variety of great drummers and their styles will be studied and discussed through directed listening and videos. At the course’s conclusion, record with a jazz quartet and perform for family and friends.
