John Richards was the child protege of his father – a well-respected guitarist in his own right. He lists early influences such as Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Django Reinhart, and Lenny Breau.
In addition to headlining various jazz festivals, John has toured with and/or backed major artists such as Carl Perkins, Tanya Tucker, Mac Wiseman, Johnny Bush, and Vassar Clements.
