The Paul Carey Quartet
Guitarist Paul Carey has been performing in Detroit and around the country for 30 years, 14 years with Detroit’s Sun Messengers and as a member of the house band at Detroit’s famed Soup Kitchen and Sully’s in Dearborn. He has also backed touring artists such as Muddy Waters and Pine Top Perkins and has toured Europe with Thornetta Davis, Johnny Bassett, Joe Weaver and the Motor City R & B Pioneers. The Paul Carey Quartet repertoire consists of funky soul Jazz standards, swinging Blues and gut-wrenching ballads ala Ray Charles.
