The purpose of Jax India Fest is to foster cultural awareness of India and its people among the North-east Florida community.

Jax India Fest has become a very popular event that attracts a large number of people from all walks of life to celebrate the rich Indian culture and heritage. In 2009, the first year of the event, about three thousand people came out to celebrate Jax India Fest. We expect the turnout to be more than six thousand, which is double compared to last year.

The event will have fifty-plus booths from a variety of regional Indian organizations and businesses that cater to the local population. The booths will be of authentic Indian cuisine, traditional Indian dresses, traditional Indian jewelry, and Indian art. In addition, traditional Indian folk and classical dances will be performed. The event will culminate in Navratri celebrations, which will include Garba Ras and Dandia—very popular traditional dance in which everyone participates.
