Java and Jazz
August 2007
The arts come together during Comerica Java & Jazz…a coffee house series.
Detroit has long been known as a great jazz town. When you add the exciting art of spoken word into the mix, you have the Detroit Public Library’s 2007 Comerica Java and Jazz series. Celebrating its seventh season, Comerica Java & Jazz continues the tradition of providing a monthly after-work concert series that showcases some of Detroit’s finest creative talent.
The August 2007 concert, the final concert of the 2007 season, features performances by The Marvin Thompson Trio and Aaron DeVall Moore.
The Marvin Thompson Trio is a popular act that performs in many venues throughout Detroit, including the UCCA’s Festival of the Arts, Noel Night and the Detroit Public Library’s popular Noontime Concert series.
Aaron DeVall Moore is a prolific and dynamic speaker with a writing style that motivates, encourages and enlightens his audience. His strong voice automatically brings the crowd into his stories and poems that are all inspired by his Christian faith.
Join us at the Main Library on the Cass Avenue lawn when Comerica’s Java & Jazz moves the concert outside for the final performance of the 2007 season. Performances are free and open to the public starting at 6:00pm. For more information, please call 313-833-4042 or visit our website at www.detroitpubliclibrary.org.
