Japan and America—Partners Facing a Changing World
Thurs., May 17, 7 p.m. << >>
Few nations have enjoyed such mutually beneficial relations as have Japan and the United States during the past 60 years. While the partnership between these two economic giants remains strong, both face important new challenges, as well as opportunities, in the days ahead. Issues of common concern range broadly from trade to security[, and are increasingly regional and global in scope].Candidly discussing these and other timely matters are His Excellency Ryozo Kato, Japan’s Ambassador to the United States for the past five years; the Honorable Howard Baker, former U.S. Ambassador to Japan and senator from Tennessee; and Michael Green, the Japan Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and former special assistant to the President for national security affairs.
